The image of the grapevine brings to mind Jesus at the last supper, encouraging his disciples and all believers to abide in Him in John 15:5:

I am the vine; you are the branches.  If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Also at the last supper, wine was taken.  In particular, Jesus took the cup of wine called the Cup of Redemption and told his disciples in Luke 22:20:

In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you…”
