Lilies / Raymond

The lily (here, an Easter Lily) has many different meanings.  Some see it as a symbol of immortality; the white color hearkens images of the white robes of the saints in heaven; the trumpet shape can recall how “the trumpet shall sound” in the last days.  The verse that comes first to my mind, however, is Luke 12:27 (KJV):

Consider the lilies how they grow:  they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
